1. Apologies
Apologies were received from Mick Drewry and Mary Horn
2. Minutes of Meeting Held on 24th June 2008
The minutes of the meeting held on 24th June 2008 were approved, with the exception that Mary Horn was not present at the meeting.
3. Matters Arising:
All matters arising were deferred to the next meeting with the exception of:
a) Agreement Between DPCA and Dunford Parish Council
The Agreement had been slightly amended following comments at the DPC meeting and the Chair of DPC and DPCA agreed to sign.
b) Crime and Safety Sub Group Disco
It was agreed that, as the disco was being held for the benefit of the local children, and it was on a youth club night when the Centre would be in use by the children, the CSSG would not be charged for the hire of the Centre for their disco on 25th July.
4. Arrangements for 2008 Gala and Gala Dance
Doreen advised that she, Mick and Jeanette Edwards (Chair of the Crime and Safety Sub-Group) had judged the scarecrow and sunflower competitions on Monday night and the results would be announced at the gala.
Doreen confirmed that she had spoken to Mr and Mrs Robinson of
Sledbrook Crescent and their two daughters would present flowers to the Mayoress. Doreen had produced a list of thanks, a timetable and a list of raffle prizes all for posting on the display boards.
The following duties were confirmed:
Meet the Mayor – Doreen/Mick (as Chair of the Parish Council) (Doreen to confirm with Mayor’s office on protocol)
Catering – Mary Smith/Anne
Tombola Stall – Barbara
MC/Play Your Cards Right - Darren
Cake Stall – Annie Dunsmore-Dawson
Welly Wanging – Dougie Dunsmore-Dawson
Dog Show – Doreen
Plate Smashing – Mick/Amos
Bar – Sean
Barbara agreed to contact Stuart Mosley to ask if he would be prepared to assist with the car parking.
Doreen confirmed that there would be a classic car exhibition.
Darren demonstrated the ‘play your cards right’ game and all agreed that this was a good attraction.
It was agreed that everyone meet at the Community Centre at 11.00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
5. Any Other Business
Anne advised that there was a suspicious white van in the area and the Police had requested that if this van was sighted to report it to 01226 786387 (Penistone Police): Registration No. X784 EBN
6. Date and Time of Next Meeting
It was agreed that an informal gala de-brief take place on Tuesday 29th July at 7.00 p.m. in The Parish Community Centre.
The next full meeting will be held on Tuesday 23rd September at 7.00 p.m. in The Parish Community Centre.
There being no further business, the meeting ended at 8.45 p.m. Doreen thanked Annie for her attendance.
